Cosmetics and APIs
Fermentation-derived ingredients for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products
Specialty fermentation products such as bioactive peptides, polyphenols or vitamins produced by selected micro-organisms in the highly-controlled conditions of a bioreactor make high-quality, natural ingredients for cosmetic or pharmaceutical products. Active ingredients for anti-aging, antioxidant protection, skin microflora regulation are a few examples of what we can offer.
Bacterial cell lysates or tyndallized (metabolically inactive) bacteria have a demonstrated potential for skin care applications, combining stability in topical formulations (creams, lotions) with biological properties such as antioxidant effects, anti-inflammatory effects, or modulation of the skin microflora.
Enzymatic activities in lactic acid bacteria can metabolize natural compounds present in various substrates, such as plant extracts, and generate new bioactive molecules with increased activity and/or bioavailability. Our R&D focuses on the development of new bioproduction processes for the synthesis of active polyphenols, polysaccharides and amino acids with specific health-promoting properties, or antimicrobial effects.
Beyond nutraceuticals and cosmetic active molecules, lactic acid bacteria are also used for the production of specific APIs such as vitamins and anti-microbials.
